Day 254: Oxford Shenanigans

Off to oxford for a jaunt, wot wot. I won't bore you with more than a hundred images of buildings  ....

We began the day with a spot of breakfast & a 'crushing'. Me and the waiter got so involved in the first few plays of the game, we forgot about the transaction.

Inside one of the colleges, on a walking tour with an ex-graduate

This is the dining room from Harry Potter. Apparently the canny buggers charged £100k plus 1% of the profits of the movies ...

In the grounds of the college, they're turned an old plague pit & the city walls into a pretty, ornamental garden.

 Reputedly the oldest pub in Oxford

We happened to go to Oxford on the day of their capping ceremony, when all the graduates  officially recieve their degrees ...

And wandered past a wedding ...

Another grand college;

And a shop selling only fob watches, quills, masks & journals. That's it.

Stopped off at the end of the day at the Oxford Market to pick up some fresh English veggibles for dinner.
