Day 134: Forest Adventures

First you must find... another shrubbery! (dramatic chord) Then, when you have found the shrubbery, you must place it here, beside this shrubbery, only slightly higher so you get a two layer effect with a little path running down the middle. ("A path! A path!") Then, you must cut down the mightiest tree in the forrest... with... a herring!
Monty Python, Search for the Holy Grail, 1975

Today we walked 7 miles through some of the 2,476 hectares of Epping Forest, and made the longest journey you can make on one line of the tube (I know, we're geeks).

The longest trip you can make on the London Underground goes through 2 hemispheres (east & west, over the meridian line), 3 counties and takes an hour and a half. It

nb: part of the forest contains the ruins of a fort where in AD.61 Boudicea was rumoured to have taken the last stand against the Romans, then poisoned herself and her daughters. NEW ZEALAND has worked it's way into Boadicea's Wikipedia article; Various female politicians, including former Prime Minister of New Zealand, Helen Clark have been called Boadicea.[45]

Total cost of todays wander: £20 and sore feet.  I LOVE london.
